got a new computer

yea i saw but as i said eariler im not getting one off newegg...its from a place near me called computer discount....and there 8600gts is 250 bucks...idont have that much...and the 8600gt is only 115 so im ganna go with that i think....and intelcrazy i PSU im planing on getting is 450watts so i should be good

i wasnt going to...im having them take it out and put a good one in thats why for the first case listed i said i have to pay 90 instead of 70 cause im putting in a better PSU

Regardless you still will want a good look at the sticky there especially the "good" and "bad" lists. There are several good ones depending on your price range and type of build to look over in the 500-600w power range.

this is the case but im putting in a better 450watt PSU mine will cost $90 at my computer discount place http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156177
or maybe this one cause it will be like 30-40bucks cheaper

so will this be a good computer once i put those 3 things on??

Clear sides and flashy leds doesn't guarantee an good computer. Take an look at the SecureMart Antec 900 ($75), or the Newegg Cooler Master Centurion 5.

dont really like ether of those 2 cases and i didnt mean just because of thos thing will it be good i mean overall now

specs are in signature

The reason for the 900 specifically being used here is far from looks alone. The thing you will want to look at is how good the air flow is in the model case you pck out. The 900 and the Centurian 5 are gaming cases. The 900 is preferred here due to running more then one hard drive along with a pair of optical drives.

yea i know that but i dont need something like the 900 thats more then i need...and ive used the centurian 5 and it was decent...i would get it again but i dont know if they carry it near me

I didn't say you did. I'm merely pointing choosing the case the best suits your actual needs and sees adequate air flow unless you are planning to run any water cooling setups. One thing that see cpu temps kept down isn't so much which cpu cooler is used but good air flow. When the last build was still in the works the board was seeing 48C idle for temps until moving everything into a new case with increased air flow.

The cpu seeing 44-46C idle then saw 33C. That was with a Zalman 9500 sitting on top. The old Socket A case only saw two 80mm fans(one rear exhaust-one top rear-no front intake) and sadly lacked any. The AeroCool AeroEngine II saw a 140mm front intake there with a 120 for rear exhaust. The Zalman alone did nothing without the increease in air flow to see actual results when swapping cases.

thats a pretty big drop...but i also cant spend 100 bucks for a nice case...the 5 is a good price ill have to look into that one

The idea to find a case that works for you without seeing the heat problem with that old compact mid tower that lacked seriously in the air flow dept.! Most of all the good cases now will at least see a single 120 in front and rear alike even if the case has a swing out door covering the drive bays. But you can see why I took a leap on the old 939 build and then a slightly larger one for the 900.

One look at the case used for the old 939 build will explain why I grabbed the sale seen on the 900 during the summer. http://www.xoxide.com/aerocool-aeroengine-2-black.html

I added two 120s on the side cover as well since the case has to slide into a cabinet section of the desk used here. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to locate a product page with a picture of what the desk looks like to show why two 120s in the front is a plus here. oh well.... :P

At the time it was the best one seen for replacing the old tight and stuffy compact mid tower used for the Socket A build. With the newer power distribution on 939 and other newer boards the move to that model was availability more then anything.

I liked what it did as far as bring temp down while hating the pair of swing out doors that blocked the power, reset, HD and Power leds, front usb there. With the 900 everything is on the top front where you don't have to worry about doors covering those or when an optical drive tray opens up.

That's a complaint I've been hearing about more often lately. But the reason has always been functionality first over style.

The thing about the case that I had before was it was smaller in size for a mid tower and looked more stylish. But it's size explains the 80mm case fans simply not providing the air flow needed. Plus there were no front or side vents seen there.

Gaming style cases on the other hand expect a need for greater cooling when hardwares are pushed! When you add ocing on top of heavy loads placed on hardwares that becomes a primary concern while still wanting a case that looks like something you can happy with. The expression "the best of both worlds" then sees application.
