Good settings for Night Shots

Yeah I've seen that higher ISO makes lots of noise but then what would be the benefit of higher ISO's?
Higher ISOs are required say if you're at an aquarium and want to take pictures of the fishies ... [1] the damn buggers never sit still and [2] it's dark in there enough as it is! (and flash isnt an option)

You could have shot that ISO200 with a 'pod.... hell I'm used to shooting ISO100 is virtual darkness ... granted its a 2-3-4-more minute shot but dang it comes out clear.
