Ghetto Rig?

Alright...I think I've got it. You guys have helped so much...I never thought I could get a system like this at this price point.

I don't need 4GB of RAM(I'll upgrade later), but I do like that 1600MHz kit, as well as the hard drive. I did some more searching and found a good CPU+Mobo deal, and I think I have a better GPU as well. How's this?

Since I'm keeping the system I've upped the budget a bit to this plus whatever the PSU takes.

Speaking of which, a 20+4 pin PSU works with a 24 pin board, right?. I was thinking of this:

Diablotek PSDA500

Stay away from that PSU, also, 1GB Vram is pretty much useless on a 4670, just stick with a standard 4670 and save your money:

Consider upgrading to 4gb though, much cheaper to spend an extra $25 now than to buy another $60 kit down the road.

Alright, 512 card it is. I'll go with the 4GB of RAM as well. About the PSU though...I picked it because it's rear-firing. I can't seem to find another one. The top fan on a PSU will end up inside this case.

edit: nvm...upon closer inspection of the case, I can't use it anyway. It has a fixed plate where all the ports poke through in the back. I guess that's an excuse to get a better looking one though. :)

I'll use that PSU(thanks!), which brings the list to this:
Thoughts? Should bring the total to ~$500 + shipping and OS, which will be ~$70. I think that's about as much as I'll get away with without my fiancee murdering me. I just hope I get enough in my return check!

edit:Of course, now I can't call it a "ghetto rig"...the old case was this, but since I can't use it I have to get a shiny new one. :D
edit2: Or...not so shiny new one, in this case.

That is a low end PSU, chances are what it would end up burning up and making some toasted computer components, hence why we recommended the Xclio which is a well known brand;). All power supplys exhaust out the rear pretty much(none come to my mind that dont exhaust).

This are also some really great budget cases:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147135 turns out cheaper, because shipping on cases is more than $10 and this case is free shipping)

Oh wow, I must have missed that Rosewill when I was searching. That's a keeper!

I figured that psu was a cheapie, based on the responses. It has 5 eggs though...

Ah well, no worries now.

Yeah, thats why i always suggest not even looking at newegg reviews except on cases, and even then to take a grain of salt. For power supplies the most important things to know are rail amperages, who manufactures the internals, etc.

^ Are they really that bad? You'd think that people with enough knowledge to be buying those parts in the first place would be at least somewhat reliable...ah well.

The people with enough knowledge tend to buy from more reputable brands, it doesnt take knowledge to try and save a dollar :P
