Rather surprised that there isn't an active one here, but here we are! A thread to...Well, you know what it's for :D.

Who else thinks that the Win7 OSK is AWESOME?!

Very pretty. Aero is indeed very aesthetically pleasing. When Vista came out, I was like - WOW.

Yeah, I was kinda mad when XP didn't improve upon the OSK when it had been around since 95 I think and it was way overdue for a visual overhaul. When (or if :D) I get a tablet PC, I'm definitely putting 7 on it, and I will be a very happy camper showing off that cool keyboard to friends :D. Notice the keyboard layout: That is the Dvorak layout, which is what my new keyboard is. I call it the AOE layout, mostly because of my many hours playing that wonderful game :D
 
98 was cool. Dude I wish those awesome Plus! themes had been built into XP so I didn't have to copy them over. I loved the fact that 98 was so dependant on DOS that you could restart Windows without restarting the computer. Much faster.
 
Hey-does anybody know how to edit your user rank text to something else? I've seen members like Buzz1927 with that edited, and on another forum normal users somehow got it edited...Just something that sparked my curiosity.

My guess is that you would probably have to earn VIP or Modulator status or do some serious butt kissing with admin :cool::D

interesting comment. As conversation my question is what is OSK? be damn if i know. Then stated it was a Dvorak keypad.
On the lighter side i read 20 yrs ago the Dvorak keypad was created for faster typing. In fact i remember why the keyboard was created the way it is today. Years ago the type writer was mechanical. Each key came up and slammed the roller. The mech keys would stick together and you would have to reach up and physically pull the keys back. thats how it worked years ago. I remember. the Dvorak was created for very fast typing if you were documenting. Its good for digital. Only problem is ive never, ever seen a Dvorak keypad with a corporation or industry. The standard keyboard is still number one. OH Well......... I could never learn both. it was one or the other.

Im still old school. Im also guessing its a virtual keyboard you may be talking about as far as OSK. Ive only used for credit cards. just guessing though.

i don't have time to get into it. xp and windows has a virtual keyboard. It's a standard key for keyboards and not dvorak key pad though. thanks.....

My comment was it's not the same as lucasbytegenius comment. the keyboard is diff. just standard.

I dunno :D I think we need to combine the ROL and MRA threads though...

And Ben, my keyboard has the Dvorak layout, you can change it in the Regional Settings, but the keys on your physical keyboard will not type the expected letter.
 
Went on another forum today (I am so ashamed and should be raged at for a week for disloyalty :P), and they have upgraded to vB 4. Shiny. But apparently vB 4 has support for those nasty moving flash ads that pop up everywhere so that you end up clicking them instead of the buttons. I don't see any improvements in vB 4, sure it's futuristic looking, but it really isn't too awesome. They changed all the emoticons, so the :eek: and :D almost look the same, they are very hard to discern.

Hey guys, anybody know why you can't create new groups here? Or is that an admin/mod only thing that can't be changed? That forum allows you to create new groups, and I though it would be fun if we could do that on here.

You'll probably have to PM Ian about that. He's pretty much the law of the land around here, even tough he rarely post anything here anymore.
