Gaming Mouse

I am looking for a good gaming mouse.

I can get Logitech® MX™ 518 for 50 dollars.

Is that a good mouse?

Thanks

Yeah, it's quite good. I've got it's little brother, the MX510, and have been quite happy with it. $50 is quite a bit, though, its $37 from newegg.

The G5 is better, though, if you want to spend close to $50

Get Microsoft mouse. Its a red laser on the bottom of the mouse. It also has no balls to deal with no more. Yes! It rolls plan.

This is the kind of mouse I got. Buy it at a computer store or Bestbuy. I don't really know the modle number for this. But you can find it on google. Just type in
"Microsoft laser mouse."

The MX518 is a very nice mouse for gaming. I would also consider the Razer Diamondback because those mice have the same qualities and a unique design/appearance. Expand your horizons. Either way, you will not regret choosing either one of them ;)

A Razer for $50 would be: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826153104

JAN :D

you'll either love or hate the razer design. personally, after using logitech mice, the razers are really uncomfortable to me... :(

i don't know if this holds true for all of them, but the razers i've tried before were WAY too sensitive for my likings, even after tweaking....

I was able to get the MX1000 laser mouse for $60, and so far it's freaking awesome... VERY precise, and for general use, the extra buttons come in quite handy. Oh, and the recharging station and Li-Ion battery are other huge bonuses as well!

Are you joking again? That is not a laser, it's a led light with a sensor. The led light lights the surface and the sensor reads the surface. These mice have now been available for "years".

You can now purchase a "laser" mouse which is still fairly new technology. I've got hte MX1000 laser mouse. The laser is pretty much invisible (there is no light). However you can see the lazer with some camera's, such as my webcam.

Edit:

Thought I should mention that the Logitech MX 518 is an optical mouse which is a fair bit better then that particular Microsoft mouse. It would be unwise for him to choose that Microsoft mouse over the MX518. If you type in "Microsoft laser mouse" in google you'll not find that mouse, it's not a laser mouse.

whatever you do dont get a wireless mouse which uses batteries, and also dont get an optical mouse.

stick to ball and wire, if you want reliable gaming.

Of course many would say that the optical mouse is so much more precise over the ball mouse it's best for gaming. Also as the ball gets dirty it becomes worse and actually very frustrating.

Also as for cordless mice, well they are pretty decent for gaming. Take my MX100 for example. I've had it since they first came out and it works flawless. I noticed the improved performance instantly. The lights on the mouse tell you how dead your battery is. Also the battery charges so fast even if you accidentally let the mouse die.. You'll be able to slap it in the charger for approx. 10 minutes to get hours of fun :). I love a cordless mouse as the wire tends to grab junk on top of a desk, This is not good when you are busily trying to frag your opponent :).

I have the logitech cordless click (which is a decent gamer), I always have 1 fully charged mouse at all times. I've never been stuck though where one of my mice has died. I'll charge them before they get that low.
