For a new build gaming computer some say I need Vista 64 Bit, others say XP 64 Bit. Which is best best and where do I get it?
Thanks

64 bit XP sucks...hardly any software/programs for it. It was basically forgotten.

You should either get 32 bit XP or 64 bit Vista.

Second that... Maybe stick with 32bit XP and wait for Windows 7 since it's supposed to be a fair amount faster than Vista... At least preliminary benchmarks show this.

I'd wait for 7 because it is supposed to be a good os and you still get dx10 and higher when they come out

I really don't have trouble with windows x64 xp, but that's my opinion. But vista ultimate x64 is really lot better than the 32 bit. But I wonder that all the guys out there that windows x64 sucks, had actually used it. Or going what everyone else says about it. And the reason about no programs out there for it, is because of the software company is to lazy to upgrade their software to include it.

I say go with XP 32-bit, I used to use vista for the dx 10, but I was seriously having a ~50 fps drop in all of my games, and it was horrible and slow and bloated. I use XP now, and my computer is waaaaay faster. XP is much lighter weight, and its worth not being able to play the few dx 10 only games. And there are patches available for a lot of dx 10 games that will let them be played on dx 9.

wait for windows 7 ;) just download the Windows 7 beta for now and use that.
