ok so i heard that games on windows for live are linked to a 360 account

i just bought world at war for my pc, when i play this online will i get all the stuff i had on my xbox like my level, accolades, classes etc, or do i have to start again.

also i bought all the map packs on my xbox, can i download them again on pc or will i have to buiy them all over again

i did message treyarch asking but surprise surprise theyre probably counting my cash and didnt answer :/

any help is great thanks

WaW isn't a games for Windows Live game, not all PC games are. The Xbox and PC versions are completely separate, so nothing will carry over, you won't have to, or even be able to, use your XBL gamertag, and yes, you will have to start afresh.

As for your maps, WaW was the last up to now and probably ever to still do the right thing and give PC DLC away for free, so you don't have to pay, it was just patched with the maps

buzzing about the maps

and ah i see what you mean, WAW is a game for windows but not live

like on the side of the case it says game for windows where as DoW2 says game for windows live, so does that mean waw isnt and Dow2 is?

Yes. If you look at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Games_for_Windows_–_Live_titles

that is a list of games for windows live games, and to play those games online, and in some cases to save games, you must have a live account, and to play online in most games, gold membership too. Just about all will allow you to play, but to take GoW as an example:

You can play online, but can't put criteria on the game, such as gametype or map, and they also are not ranked matches

so if its a game for windows live if you dont have gold membership you cant play online in some cases

if thats the case how crap is that :/

yes, but it is the same with the xbox, and look at the number of online PC games, then look at the number of GFWL games, it is such a huge minority that it really doesn't matter. There are more cons than pros to GFWL, but it is like that with most DRM

GFWL is crap!

Ive had nothing but bad experience with it,especially with GTA IV and think twice about buying games with GFWL.

so am i safe with waw, seriously dont want to be paying to play it :/ one of the reasons i got rid of xbox, also how does it play online hackers etc??

No, you do not have to pay.

As for hackers, as in any game, they have em, but PB (PunkBuster, the anti-cheat program used) is very good at catching them, and unlike a console, because of dedicated servers, the servers are moderated, so cheaters can be, and often are, kicked very quickly

thats good stuff, well in a few mins im off to pick up my new pc, so after iv had a good play online over weekend i shall report back i geuss and let you know what i thought :P first pc capable of playing games ftw

Be waned, it'll be tough at first...going from a controller to a mouse and keyboard is not easy. There's no aim-assist like with most console games.

I like it that way, though...

been honing my skills on battlefield 1942 for a few week so i shouldnt be too bad, plus i love the leaning round corners thing on pc's

EDIT: got the pc last night, did not realise how big the bloody tower was, its huge

pc gaming is immensley funner than xbox :D im a very happy man

only thing annoying me is i cnt play bfbc2 online without updating and iv only got 3 gb left for the rest of the month :/
