Formatting and re-installing XP

Reinstall with my copy off Dropbox. That copy will definitely work for you.

Why would it? XP was installed, but the activation key on the side of my computer doesn't work...

Another problem is, when I got to the update with the malicious software removal (and other security updates), it did the problem I had before, Windows restarting over and over again. I got the update from Compaq but it said I don't match the minimum requirements...

I will try dropbox next week though, as I have access to this computer only during weekends.

Discs and keys need to match. Retail discs don't work with OEM keys, only retail keys. Other unbranded XP discs (such as the ones I use) work with OEM keys.
 
If you can't find Windows XP anywhere to buy it from anymore then contact people on:

[email protected]

I know people there who make services like these so damn often.
And they have TONS of Windows XP copies so I am sure they will send you one for very cheap.

And their support is pretty good I must say.

Well my CD Key didn't work, and the one on unattend.txt either...

Don't know what to do...
 
Hmm....That's weird that your key didn't work. Did you try activating by calling Microsoft?
 
If the key won't activate then yes, you will have to call microsoft so they can issue you a new code. If the key says its not valid when entering it then you are entering it wrong, double check the letters as voyagerfan as said.
