this will be my first time building a computer, and i know a few basic things about computers but not a whole lot.

i am pretty confident that it will be easy to put together after watching the newegg youtube video, im just posting this to get some additional feedback and i just wanna make sure that everything im ordering is correct.

and another question, with the gpu, can you add it onto the motherboard with the extra PCI express slots, or does it replace the video card?
 
The AMD chip you chose is pointless seeing as you have a new Graphics card, Go for Intel if possible CPUwise, if not, the earlier processor should be ok.
 
It is possible to crossfire the GPU on the CPU with a dedicated GPU, but I don't remember the one you can do it with.

But I'd still go with the 550ti.

by number you mean price i assume and right now, without the price of the operating system and shipping, it stands at $650, and to me, that is pretty dang good. i heeded claptonmans advice and switched to the XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9) 550W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply.
