Fan plugs?

Hello
I'm llooking into buying another fan...but i am not sure where to plug it....
i think THIS is whre it should be plug.....(the blue thing, and if you look lcosely their is a litle meal pointing up)

Any sugestions on ? is it the plug? or what is it? what fan would fit into it?

Simply look to see what type of plug the wire from the fan on your processor plugs into. Take a piccy of it, as you may need a adapter and we can link you to one.
 
most fans have a 4-pin connector that you plug into the PSU 4-pin connector. And other fans have a small connector that you can plug into the Mobo. They usually read SYSFAN and PWRFAN.
 
just buy a fan with a molex connector, this way, you don't even have to worry about whether your motherboard have anymore of those fan connectors.
 
you buy it to connect with a molex connection strait from your power supply its four pin and its not on the motherboard, its in the form of a cord comming from your power supply. your disk drive uses it and your hard drive uses it.
 
ya i was jsut looking on yahoo and they had good pictures! thx nyway!
Are these fans usaly common in technology stores? or sre they harder to find? (thx for your help so far!)

great, i am going to peterborough this week end, and i wil lget that fan (or maybe 2!!!!) i<m anxious....but i'm not sure where to put it?!?!?! i might have one toward the CPU (processor) and one on my PCI slots (videocard and modem) or maybe on my rams, i dunno :S
any suggestions?

depending on your case and what fans are in it already then i suggest you make one an intake and one an outflow so that there is a "breeze" of air passing through your system. That way the Hot air is continually recycled and will give an overall cooling effect on everything
 
thats sounds good, but....
where will it get is air form. do i need to put it near a whole, or it will simply suck air into the thing, from whols all around?

should be vents in various places on the case, hopefully there is at least one on the back that you can put one of the fans. All depends on the case you have

the case should have places for you to mount them, so it really isn't up to you where to put the fan, unless you drill your own holes and all.
 
Well, i jut boought a fan :D
it changes color too! 12 different colors....i will post a pic right soon to show where i put it....
but, is it normal for the softwear speedfan not to reconize the new fan?
 
Here is a very bad picture of the fan...

you can see right behind the fan their is the hard drive. it is shooting on the videocard....the air that goes down also hits the modem (preety much all where the PCI slots are) the other half goes over the videocard, and it goes inth the back fan...it is also tillted a bit toward the mother board.
:D what do you think of it? :P
