F.e.a.r.

Well F.E.A.R. is much more fun if you ask me :) More of a story-line in my view and no monsters like those in Doom 3.

be careful of asking opinions, it tends to cause very heated "discussions".
my personal preference is half life 2, such a well crafted game. plus you dont need a super computer to run it well
 
Havent played FEAR yet but it looks unique... in a good way. Like every character has their own superhuman abilities or something. Also, decent graphics too!

i have played both and FEAR was the better game for me.

also i found that cod2 and quake4 are better than both of these games
 
Yeah Half-Life 2 is one of my favourite games, I'll try the demo for F.E.A.R. and COD2 and Quake 4 that 'maroon1' suggested.

well, i have never played fear, but i played cod2 on xbox 360 and it was awesome. fps suck with a controller....man i wish i could play it w/ keyboard and mouse:D

and i have never played hl2, but hl1 was awesome, and from what i have heard hl2 is just as good or better.
 
FEAR is a much different game then Doom 3. Only thing in common would be the fact that they are FPS. I enjoyed FEAR more then Doom 3 but I'm grateful to have them both. People are mentioning COD2 and Quake 4 like they where part of the Question :P. But I agree that they are great games and also have about as much in common with FEAR as Doom 3 does :P.
 
i asked before and was told to get a 6800gt graphix card for my comp. How would this run good on my comp with a GeForce 6600 256mb DDR PCI express, best buy has it on sale for $143.99 and the only reason im thinking of buying a card is to play fear and some other titles.

i got a HP Pavillion 3200
1gb ddr sdram memory
amd 64.

an last but not least is it the kinda card i could just detach my old card and put this in the same spot?

if that's a 6600 then don't expect to run it on anywhere near high. Fear is a VERY demanding game, especially if you turn everything to max.

First make sure you have a pci-e slot. If not, then buy the agp version. It depends if your computer has integrated or a normal graphics card. If it's integrated, you'll have to disable it or change some settings. if it's a normal card, then take it out and pop the new one in, then install al the video drivers.
 
nah itz scary though I watched my brother play he jumped u kill people and ghost like things.Its pretty cool you get some cool weapons and some cool modes of play.

no i disagree with u, HL1 single player is much better than HL2. HL1 was the best game at it's time. HL1 game take place in labratories, and it has more puzzles than HL2 and it was much more fun than HL2
 
maxxx6969 - i have geforce 6600 and i run fear fine at 1024x768 with midium/high setting.

and as i heard 128MB geforce 6600GT is the same price as 256MB geforce 6600 and it is better

OMG I spent like 45 min downloading this game and almost 1/30th of my cap to get a demo that lasts all of under 10 min. Way to easy. I mean why the hell is it almost 700mb for such a small section?. Is it anything to do with all texture pannels and stuff have to be there even though there not used?. But what I saw was amazing, and I was supprised my GPU kept up with it, and I had absalute maximum settings with a frame rate of like 40 :D. I may have to get this game.
