emachine trouble

Make sure the motherboard standoffs are in the right place and not disconnected. Make sure you plugged in the 4-pin CPU power connector the correct way; that usually gets over looked. Recheck all connections from the power supply.

well first off, it is an emachine, that may explain why :P

Take out all but the essentials, so leave 1 stick of memory, processor, if you have integrated graphics on the motherboard then use that, 1 hard drive and dvd drive and that is all. See if it boots.

If not, check all power connections.

If still nothing the cheap asian motherboard has probably died on you.

My dad has had his emachines for 3 years its had a lot of upgrades but its working lovely, I hate all shop built budget computers tho..

Welcome to the world of e machines I had one to go out a week ago currently fighting with geek squad to try to get them to recheck the hardware because they say it software but I know it's not. Most likely the motherboard If you can try the PSU in a different computer.

♦jumper the switch 1st. see if that gets power to the motherboard.
it might be the button switch. just put a wire across it and hold it.
if you did not.

Reset the BIOS by pulling the cmos battery for 20 min. If this dont fix it, the motherboard could have crapped out. Its common in emachines. eMachines are great cheep end computers but once they hit 4 or 5 years old they can start to have random issues. I own 3 emachines and never a problem, But I have serviced quite a few of them.

Obviously....the whole thing is made from cheap components, only thing "quality" is the CPU because its made by intel hehe.
