Computer 101 Idea Thread

Go ahead and pick whatever one you want. Even if there is one already, can always merge information. I noticed you were looking for a way to improve your knowledge, this is how I'm improving mine is doing some basic research and writing summaries for these 101s.

alright how should i do it? do i just start a new thread and title it xxx 101? or what?
 
Good Question! I guess for now just type it up in Word and save it for the time being. I'm monkeying around with Free Blogs and I'll set up where you can post it.
 
Well we'd combine/edit/review them there since they're all in one place so we don't have to thread hop. Once they're kind of 'finalized' then we can bring them over here.

ok that makes sense. so i was thinking maybe i could choose one that seems outdated and update it? or do i need to start with a new one?
 
Beauty of this is you can do what you want.

Couple Guidelines
- Make sure you answer a specific question and try not to go on tangents.
- Include ALLLLLLLLL references
- Do not use "I, Me, etc..." It doesn't matter what you think, it's the facts that are important.
- If you can't find certain information, just make it bold and highlight it and keep going. Maybe someone else can help you with it.


More guidelines to come as I think of them :P
 
Do what you want! :P it's all far game right now since it's just starting up. Just keep in mind that if anyone writes one 'summary' that it could be merged or updated or changed as time goes on. Just want to provide the most 'factual' information possible.
 
sorry people i have no time to get help out im barely able to get on here alot now and im living in thailand so wont get a chance to check any 101's i made on any computers and would just have to work from my memory, and i much prefer to test things out before i write anything.
if i can find the time i may be able to help update a few though if that is still needed

That's quite alright! This project for one person would take forever and real life stuff is more important anyways, that's why everyone who wants to and has time to contribute, can.
 
Rit, great job of starting this.
I'm actually looking at something a little more formal and should know a better idea of it within a week. Hence im closing this thread for now.
Please don't feel dispondant, given your efforts here i will be coming to you for input when/if we have ratified my ideas
