If he can hack a fully patched and updated AD policy I am sure Microsoft would have a fat pay check waiting for him as a security analyst.

Most of the times people hack enterprise systems, is because they aren't patched all the way and script kiddies reverse engineer known exploits. This is a multi-layered issue as not every network is setup for easy to push out system updates and patches, and usually most places run a minimal IT department as they can.
