Changing to a Solid State Hard Drive (Crucial MX200 500GB) Did Make My Web Browsing Much Faster!

Just changed my Acer 5740 Notebook Core 3 8GB RAM, 320GB non Solid State Hard Drive to a
Crucial MX200 500GB SATA 2.5 Inch Internal Solid State Drive - CT500MX200SSD1. I had an IT Specialist do this for $150 including clone of previous Hard Drive as I didn't want to screw with this, and the bottom line is it seemed to make my web browsing much, much faster as well as make my boot up/shut down time Super Fast as well.

I should note that I did decide to use an ethernet cable as before I was connected wirelessly and the ethernet cable did make web surfing faster but the ultimate web speed changer was the Solid State Drive. I tested surfing wirelessly with the Solid State Drive which was significantly faster then with my previous non Solid State Hard Drive and then Connected with the Ethernet Cable with the Solid State Drive which made surfing a little faster then the wireless surfing with the Solid State Drive. Sorry if that sounds a little convoluted.

I had originally intended to buy the Intel 730 Series Solid State Hard Drive which was about $56 more but I got lousy non-existent customer service from Intel trying to verify that this drive was compatible with my Acer Notebook (I was on hold for an eternity on the phone and finally gave up trying to speak to a human) and got great instant customer phone service from a tech at Crucial which is why I decided to buy their product. This is my unsolicited statement.

Bottom line is I am extremely happy I upgraded my Drive to Solid State and it was worth the aprox $350 I spent including $150 for having someone install it.
 
As above, if it's that noticeable then there sounds like something else was wrong with your system.

I think they included $150 as installation/cloning fee, so $200 for the drive.
 
You will notice an overall dramatic increase in performance after switching to an SSD, especially in app and OS load times. An SSD doesn't increase your internet speed, but in many cases it's the computer itself that is getting bogged down when loading content-heavy web pages, so I could see an SSD making this appear faster.

a solid state disk wouldnt effect internet speed necessarily... however CACHED websites will load much much faster. also opening the web browser itself will be a lot faster. and, well anything currently stored in the paging file would be faster, assuming the paging file is set on the ssd.

I should have articulated this more precise and said (cached) websites load much faster as well as the browser. You misinterpreted what I wrote on the cost. It was aprox $200 including tax for the Drive and I paid $150 to have the Drive Installed and Cloned from the previous drive.
