Whats the difference between cat5 and cat6 Ethernet cables??
EDIT: Found out its the mhz. Does that make a difference in speed during file transfers?

dont use cat5e crossover unless you need a crossover cable. and most ppl wont notice a difference between cat 5 and cat 6 over the internet, but on a local network you would if everything is running gigabit

no, not gigabyte, gigabyte is a brand. gigabit means your computers are able to transfer data at 1000Mb/s, instead of 100Mb/s.

if you really are this unsure, just get the cat6, its like $3 more

yes, cat6 supports higher frequencies, than cat5, so its faster. but it will work between any network cards, routers, anything that requires an rj45 (the type of connector on most ethernet cables) port. you cant go wrong with using a cat6 or a cat5. the cat6 is faster and more expensive, thats it
