Career question...

I think IT sounds pretty promising. Honestly because with programming it seems like you have to remember ALOT and i'm not the greatest at that. Alos there is just SO MUCH to programming I don't think i'd be able to keep up with it...

Then don't do programming. If you aren't sure take some broad courses and perhaps try an internship here and there and see what you like. Heck, you may end up liking something like graphic design or web development better.

K thanks for all of the help. Also, is there anything I can be doing in high school to get started?

Learn from this forum about computers... do IT subjects, like programming, software, IT.... i don't know what else you can do... but that is what i'm going to be doing.

Stick around on this forum cause i have learn a lot!!!!!!!!!

K cool. Yeah i was about to ask what the best way to really learn cuz i was reading the 101's by Praetor and it's alot of abbreviations and stuff i just don't understand haha. I guess i'll just troll for a while and pick up stuff as i go...

What do you need that many macbooks for? if you don't mind me asking

I don't need them, my users do. The school system I work for gives every high school student a laptop, those pics are just one building, and there are about 1100 in my office right now. I am collecting them so I can reimage them over the summer.

I would love to go to a school that gives you a laptop!

Are you free to keep it when your time at the school is over?

Nope they are leased and I don't deal with money or purchasing, I am the person who fixes stuff when it breaks or deploys software over the network, or fixes the servers when they don't work right. I also have to support the user base as well when they have issues.

At some point they may be able to keep them or buy them real cheap but I have no say in that nor do I know how that would work.

Well some schools do that here in AUS.

My school is doing it next year :D:D:D:D Can't Wait.

I go to high school in one of the poorest counties in my state. The average family income of those families is less than $80,000. It's a better choice than some of the other schools I got to choose from though. My town is too small to have it's own high school, so we go to other towns.

IT is a broad term

IT can mean the following:

Technician
Network admin
Management
software developer
support staff
help desk
web developer
database guru
cisco dude/dudette
etc

Yes - so when you want to go into IT you can choose one of those or do the whole lot! :P

So if i want to build computers, what is the true name for that? Like programming computers is computer programming, obviously. And also is there a way i could make over 150K in making computers? I know a management job pays 225K but that one person said he'd been working on them for 10 years and makes 50K....

for school i chose computer hardware engineer and probably only way would be if you start your own bisnuess like a huge one or something and what is the job to make 225k?
