Hows this setup?

Thoughts?

All looks fine to me, may want a better case such as the Carbide 300R though, see here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139011&Tpk=carbide 300r or perhaps the CM Enforcer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119240&Tpk=enforcer the Antec 300 is old. There's always the 302 though http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129180

The FX 8120 is probably overkill for gaming, I'd probably just go for an FX-6100 and call it a day if you want an AMD system. The Intel Core i5 2500K or 3570K and a Z77 board would be better for gaming than any AMD system though.

I only wanted the antec 300 for aesthetic purposes.. Is it really worth it having a different case?

2nd, I just want to play moderate games that don't require too much power like Diablo 3.

If you can lower my budget even more, that'd be great.

Btw, I still need to buy an OS right? Should I get Windows 7?

The 300 is an old case with literally no cable management. If you really want an Antec 300, get the 302. It's the updated version with cable management features. I think the 300R is a nice looking case though.

In that case you'd definitely only need an FX-6100. :) The 2500K or 3570K and a good Z77 board would still be better though. Do you have a preference between AMD and Intel, or do you not mind?

Yes, you should. :) It's only 100 bucks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986

actually diablo only recomends a dual core so i don't think it's quad threaded, so a 4100 should do fine, but an i3 2100 will probably still be better

Which would be cheaper? the intel or amd? I am a huge fan of intel tho

Anything else I should change that's better for the buck?

can you chack if you live near a microcenter, just go to microcenter.com and at the top of the page is a store selector.

It's a hard question to answer. Personally I'd go for a 2500K and a Z77 board myself, but an FX-4100 and an AM3+ board would be cheaper most probably, but the 2500K would own it.

2500K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
Z77 board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293
Total $344.98

FX-4100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103996
AM3+ board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514
Total $259.99

And really as the 6100 isn't much more you may as well get that if you want an AMD system http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103962

Yes I do live near a microcenter.

Do they sell all computer pieces? If so, should I get all of them from there instead of newegg?

Secondly, are the blue lights in antecs from the cases or the cpu?

If I get the corsair computer case how can I get blue lights? It looks really aesthetic

the blue lights are just some case fans and you can buy some to change out any other case's.

http://www.microcenter.com/specials/promotions/AMDbundlePROMO.html

that's why i love microcenter, the rest of their stuff is about the same price as newegg so if they have it in stock just grab it there and save the 3+ days of shipping, even if it's a few bucks more i think it's worth saving the time, but tax is a b**** so remember you gotta add that in.

But if I buy it with the rest of the computer pieces (all 12), wouldn't the shipping be totaled together? or is it all separate?

ok good. I'm buying all from newegg. Maybe the Processor from microcenter, but its only $15 cheaper..

We'll see.

So overall, am I set/good?

Going to buy it hopefully tomorrow!

Are you getting the CX 600 or the TX 650? The TX would be better. I have the CX and I like it but I've heard some people have issues with a whiny fan. Mine's fine and works well but the TX would be better probably. The link you have is the TX.

that's the 3570 which is slightly faster, more power efficient, better integrated graphics, and should overclock a little better, and with some motherboard it's 50 off too.
