Should I go with an AM2 mobo or should i stick with the 939 board? I guess the real question is, is the DDR2 memory going to make a HUGE difference? Cause I want a board that is full x16 SLI, and there are two i'm looking at, both from asus, one is AM2, and one is 939.

ddr and ddr2

well all i know about ddr2 is it is more effiecent at trasnferring data and is also energy effecient... my opinion is its not much of a difference. I recommend getting a motherboard that supports both ddr and ddr2. This is called a dual channel ddr & ddr2. such as the P5VDC-X motherboard.
Keep in mind these motherboars have slots for ddr an ddr2 but you can only run one type of memory at a time. and also im learning about computers as i go (so i am no expert) and trying to help as i learn.

am2~ better overclocker also,(i heard)
- ddr2 ram is actually cheaper than some ddr rams, and performs almost twice better?!
i heard these things from other people, and i would go socket am2 of course,
since the price is like the same anywayz.

im going to say go with the am2 motherboard even though the performance gain isnt there yet, but AM2 IS the future of AMD and if it doesnt perform much better than a 939 system at the start it is the most upgradable option hands down right now.

I was going to go with that board, but i wanted full x16 SLI, so i would go with the wireless deluxe edition, the 229.99 board, but that was my second choice.
