BEst ATI Card on a budget

Any reason you specifically want an ATI card? You can get an 8800GT for what? $150? It's a pretty solid card. I think you could up it to a 9800 of some sort for 350ish

Also, are you looking for an AGP card or PCI express? Your sig says you have an AGP card now so if you are upgrading that, a PCIe card is of little use ;)

You can get a 1950 for under 100 easy. Cromwell's recommendation of 8800GT is a very good one as well. If you're insistant on ATi, have a look at the 3750/3780, those can be had very cheaply.

Unfortunately newegg only shows 3650s and 3850s without any 3700s or even a 3870 for an AGP model. Two pages of ATI AGP models can be seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000380048+1305520549+1069609639&name=AGP+4X%2f8X

Two pages of NVidia AGP models lack any 8xxx series cards. What they have instock can be looked over at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...00380048+1305520548+1069609639&name=AGP+4X/8X

You may have to browse a few other vendors like TigerDirect to find other models once you decide on which one to go with. (ATI, NVidia - 2xxx, 3xxx - 7xxx,8xxx, etc.)

The 3870 512MB for $135 after MIR is, IMO the best card for the price offered from ATI.

Have a link for one? There wasn't any available at newegg in AGP form.

Once AdminPower specifies what make and model board the new card will go on then we will find that one out. Until then all we can do is list the best options for both types.

I'm building a new computer, so I won't be needing AGP any more.

I figured as much but all that was needed was the answer. I have to agree with OMEGA about looking at a 3870 unless waiting for the next PCI-E 2.0 series cards there. Just make sure it's a good brand for the model you pick out.

I ended up going with the 3870 from sapphire. It should serve me pretty well along with a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 quad and 4 gig of ram.
