Apple is not fighting microsoft at selling their OS, they are fighting all PC manufacturing companies and make users use macs.

I consider Apple a monopoly.
Anything you buy that revolves around Apple will do such things....Iphone has to have AT&T to work....Ipod will only work with Itunes....Mac can only run OSX etc.
Reason I don't buy their crap.
Apple isn't a monopoly
but this is
That is not a definition of a monopoly. Let me give you an example. I live in kansas City, and I have my utility gas through Missouri Gas Energy, MGE. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever dealt with, they offer the worst services I have seen, and they don't give a crap about their clients.
They are a monopoly because they are the only game in town. I can't switch my gas service over to a different gas company. I have no choice.
You choose to not use apple, you use an alternative, therefore they are not a monopoly.
They are in direct competition with Microsoft, Linux, Novell, Citrix, so on and so forth. If you choose not to use their product that is your choice, and you have a choice therefore it is not a monopoly.
Isn't Apple considered a monopoly since you have to buy there computer to get OSX? I just think way back when the gov't went after microsoft for being a monopoly and it makes more sense that apple is. Thought's?
One word: OSx86
I don't think there a monopoly but I don't agree with them as they are trying to take over every bit of technology people own (computer, mp3 and phone) and lots of apple users say Microsoft are trying to take over the world!
I also don't agree with intel as they are trying to take over every component inside a computer and don't care about killing smaller companies.
One word: OSx86
Without using offical updates. Personally IMO Apple are going to be like the 90's again when they were better speced than PC and had more Quality than Quantity even though today they are the best built machines today. Like if you look at the new 17'' MBP that can take DDR3 8GB Memory which is fantastic still being 0.95'' thick.
What's happening to Apple today is PC users keep believing that OS X runs the same speed as Vista so if you can buy a Quad core for 1,200 and 1,200 bucks for a Dual Core iMac. People will think the vista will perform better while the Mac would be a little speedier than the vista.
Exactly. People just need to get it in to their head OS X is just as speedy as vista and uses less resources and Component wise.I am not really an Apple biased person because I can fluently use Mac, Windows, and Linux all. But you're right, most of the time the Apple bias does tend to agree with that.
I pick at Microsoft's flaws, they have things in their software that is nothing but ignorant. IE is in the box but is junk with its security weaknesses and the weird way it displays CSS. Microsoft is not attracting users to IE by beating the competitor's product, they are attracting users by making it the default product of Windows. There is nothing wrong with the fact that they bundle it, I have a problem with the fact that they really do not have to build a competitive product to achieve success.
Yeah... Gotta love it.
They are probably the best built... Can't argue with the metal box.
I have a Mac Mini that runs OS X and it's just as responsive as my desktop with Vista. The Mini is probably 1/50 its size, too.
Exactly. People just need to get it in to their head OS X is faster than vista and uses less resources.
Don't turn this into a MAC vs PC thread... this thread has nothing to do with the performance of any computer.
