AMD CPU to pair with RTX 4070 Super?

I am currently upgrading most of my computer and I am torn between a couple paths for my CPU (and therefore motherboard and RAM) based on my RTX 4070 Super.

I have already decided on the RTX 4070 Super (bought the founder's edition direct from Nvidia) since $600 is about as much as I want to spend on a graphics card right now. I'm upgrading from a GTX 1080 so the 4070 Super will be a huge upgrade even if it's not a perfect card. I like to play MMOs, 4X games, and big open world RPGs so my graphics have been lagging recently. Planning to play at 1080p and 144 Hz.

I've decided to go with AMD for processor this time given the issues with recent Intel models and I'm torn between getting the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or a cheaper alternative such as the Ryzen 7 5700X3D or 7700X.

Basically I'm wondering it it's worth it to buy the 7800X3D with a mid-range GPU or would it be enough to get something like the 5700X3D or other 7000 series? The 7800X3D is very tempting and if it's truly the best I'm willing to buy, but also wouldn't be opposed to saving a couple hundred bucks.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

I wouldn't buy a 5700X3D now if you weren't already in that platform and can upgrade to an X3D chip.

Nothing wrong with the 7800X3D, especially with discounts for it since the 9800X3D just came out. Up to you really, between those two. If the 9800X3D isn't sold out, personally I would go for that but the 7800X3D is not a bad choice.
