Already Have Newer Version INstalled?

IM trying to play battlefield 2 on my pc, i understand there is a 1.5 patch for it, so i downloaded the patch, when tried installing it says, Already have a newer version installed, can some 1 please help ?

Either you have the new version installed. In which case, you dont need to install it or you have downloaded a older version of the patch that's already installed on your PC.

I had this problem awhile back when trying to install to my laptop. My first question to you is, how is it that youre installing it? CD, DVD, digital download?

i installed it with pc cd, when i went ingame it still said i had the old version, so i tried installing 1.41 first, and 1.41 stops installing after 8 percent, then when trying to install 1.5, it says i have a newer version installed

I had nothing but problems trying to Update BF2,Its a nightmare and i gave up,I had the same problem.

Thats why i love steam = Auto updates = less hastle.
