Lagging when playing APB

I'm playing a not so known game called All Points Bulletin (TPS shooter) and I'm sick of having 40 FPS whenever I'm playing in crowded areas.

Windows 7
AMD Phenom 955 Black Edition, OC to 3,9 GHz
8GB RAM
HD7870

So, this game is extremely bad optimized and even with lowest possible settings it's lagging hard when I'm playing in crowded areas... I have overclocked both the CPU and the GPU as much as I can. I have replaced the stock CPU cooler with a CMaster Hyper 212 Evo. The problem when OC the CPU is not the temperature, it's something else.

I guess it's my CPU that's the bottleneck in my setup, but is it maybe possible to OC it a bit more or is 3.9 GHz the most I can get out of it?

I have played APB Reloaded, pretty fun. Anyways, hows your internet? You have the hardware to play the game at max, but the game is heavily dependent on internet speed and ping.

My internet connection is perfect and my latency in the game is also good.

No no no, people with double more powerful computers than me do also have FPS issues. This game is eating performance because it's a bad optimized game.

I have low FPS in crowded areas, thus because my computer obviously can't handle the stress of 20 people running around shooting at each other.

You obviously haven't played APB. And anyways it sounds like OP is describing stuttering. Which does happen with a bad Internet connection.

He mentioned FPS, so it can't be that. Connection lag does not affect FPS except in some alien games with very bad developers. Also, update from OP.

Does this game use Physx?

I played it with a GT 240 and a i3, so....
Do a speedtest and post results. But tbh lucas is probably right. it's not the internet.

Yeah, and I guess that was a few months ago. Try to install the game now and go to a crowded area. Good luck getting more than 30 FPS with that setup. As I said, after every patch the lags just increases for EVERYONE. I'm not alone with this problem.

As I said my internet connection is just fine. The connection between me and APB is good. Don't bother bringing up that topic again.
 
I would still like to see ya know? Not saying you are stupid but many are and think there internet connection is great but it sucks. Anyways, I believe you. Sounds like a APB problem if everybody is having problems. Not much we or you can do about that. PhysX can be disabled in the APB settings. If it's really bad, go play GTA or JC2-MP, that's all I can really tell you sorry. I googled like all hell and can't find anything.
