(I suggest also clicking on the links if you only looked at the v-card)

I know Apple isn't really the "gaming" company, but I was wondering which laptop I would get better fps on given the variables...

- I run a parallel on the mbp to play Windows games (Windows 7 w/ VMWare)
- Same game, same quality, (all in-game variables are identical).

I was thinking that the Mac would give more fps, but the fact that it's 2880x1800, compared to 1920x1080 (blade) makes me hesitate. Also the Blade is designed for gaming, so that adds a counter balance.

Also I'm not really a computer guru when it comes to knowing your internal parts.

Thanks,

Ryan

Off the two you listed, gt the MacBook. It will perform better in games. It has a quad core ivybridge, and better graphics. The other one is not a gaming machine. It's dual core, and a midrange mobile graphics card. It would be mediocre in compairison. And as for the resolution, the MBP will have a better picture, but you can lower it to 1080p and still have the same picture quality and better framerates of the other one.

For the price though, look for an Asus with a GTX 675m and you will get the beat possible mobile game performance.

You will really get more out of your money by buying a brand lesser known. Apple and Razer really do take a lot of extra money off of you.

This one is cheaper and if you upgrade one of the HDDs to an SSD, it will have even better specs than the apple and Razer

I was just wondering, but you both mentioned how it's recommended to get a laptop for a lower price. I'm not trying to insinuate anything, but are you also saying that these laptops are bad (at gaming) for their price? I've been using Apple for majority of my computer life, and I don't mind Windows, but I'm just more comfortable around Apple.

Thanks for all the help, I never really looked into gaming laptops so much, so I'm trying to get the best buy I can by asking questions.

For the price, apple sucks. Really all you are paying for is the name. You can get far better for the price.

How good is the graphics card in the Blade? Also is it a good laptop for carrying around while gaming, because the dimensions on it seem pretty nice (from my PoV).

I like your sig quote.

If I remember right, it has he GT555m which is not a gaming card. It will game, but you can surely do better for the price. The GTX560m would be leages better. And you really want a quad core.

For the price of that Mac you could go on newegg and find a better computer in almost any brand.

That high Macbook Pro is more for video production, but in my opinion for the price that is debatable.

Well, do you need it to portable? Because, you could get a EXTREME desktop for the price of those laptops. You can also get a pretty portable desktop. I used to want a gaming alienware lappy, than with some thought, I decided no. A gaming laptop gets VERY hot, and has awful batter life. MBPs are good about those, but still.

I definitely did want something portable. That's why I was looking at those two specific ones. Their dimensions are a feature that I like.

Also wouldn't the dual-core i7 in the Blade make it have longer battery life?

Are there any good laptop companies that come for a cheaper price, but have better specs? I looked at the link on the first page, and was wondering if there were any like that.
