hello all....
considering buying this nice and cheap laptop but im not sure what its capable of.
the graphics is not very good but, is the setup able to play games like battlefield bad company 2, age of empires three, medevil2 or/and sims3??
:good:

Steer away. HP and Compaq (same company) have a very bad build quality. (the only thing that I would use from HP or Compaq is the case.)
Chances are that the "Intel Shared Graphics" will be very parasitic on your ram. If you decide to get it, then your first upgrade would be to the RAM. Make sure to get DDR2-800 in it for best perormance. I would suggest 4-6GB to run the MAX from the OS and Graphics at the same time.
Also look into getting a dual core processor (assuming it is not celeron dual).
It should run what you are looking to, with some upgrades.

I don't think Compaq has much to do with H.P. as to what is really done on it's products. The same people are doing the system Engineering and Design.

As for your thinking all H.P. computers are poor quality, all Mfg. have their lower priced systems. And many of them are not really good.

I have a H.P. Pavilon dv6 their business quality laptop and it is a great working system.

it is a dual core and are you saying that if i upgrade the RAM i could play games like battlefield bad company 2?
im really put off by the graphics card.....

The memory upgrade won't help much, it's the processor and the graphics card that mean a lot. If your graphics card is not good, the games won't run well.

the intel graphics card is integrated and uses the RAM as graphics memory. It will handle most medium range games ok. BF isn't that graphics intensive, so if you upgrade then you should be fine. The max memory of the intel is around 1-1.5 Gb, so running a program/game that is graphics intensive will leave you with little RAM for the system. Upgrade and you will be fine.
