Best for gaming

What of the following two options should be better for gaming:

1- Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2GHz 800MHz FSB 2MB cache
4GB DDR3 800MHz RAM (expandable to 8GB)
nVidia GT 230M 1GB GDDR3 up to 2GB with shared memory
400 GB HDD 5400 rpm ($650)

2- Intel Core i5 430M 2.26-2.53 GHz 3MB cache
4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM (expandable to 8GB)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD with 32MB-1696MB shared memory
500 GB HDD 7200rpm (+$50)

Theres only a $50 difference between the two, everything else is the same.

Also there are also these two options:

3- Intel Core i3 330M 2.13GHz
4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM (expandable to 8GB)
nVidia GT 310M 512MB GDDR3 up to 2.2GB with VRAM
320 GB 5400rpm (+$70)

4- Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 2GHz 3MB
4GB DDR2 1066MHz RAM
nVidia GTX 260M 1GB GDDR3 up to 2.2GB with VRAM
320 GB 7200RPM (+$150)

Focus on the first two options but also consider these.

Either number 3 or number 4 dude. I would personally take number 3, but number 4 wouldn't be a bad choice. I think number 3 is the most balanced due to the cpu and ddr3, also that video card is very good.
 
thats not so easy ideally you want i5 with the gtx 260 or possible the 330 in the i5 laptop then just buy two of them

id say you want to stick with the i series of cpu's as they are better than the core 2's but to play games your gonna need a good gpu probably say the first one and the forth one

the thrid one only has a 310 m which is low end gpu's for laptops and the 260 definatly out performs and 230 m i think out perform it

I know dude, those are the ones that are catching my atention. The 310M is a low end graphics card and the i3 is only slightly better than the Core 2 Duo because of Hyperthread and higher transfer rates, but doesn't justify the huge difference between 230M>>>310M.
Number four has a great GPU but it's CPU is really a bummer for the price. In comparison charts it's even lower than the T6600.
 
More details

1,2 and 3 are Toshiba
4 is Asus but is refurbished
Same screen #1,2,3 16" screen #4 15.6" but full hd 1080p, Asus is a little bulkier/heavier because it's muscle car looks.

If you talking about gaming. The GPU would be the most important component.
In worst case, you can upgrade the CPU to the existing platform, but no way on GPU.

Well, the good think it's that Asus let's you overclock it's CPU and GPU without making the warranty void, it even includes an overclocking Asus program. Also... the Asus is a "quality refurbished" laptop, what do you think about that?
 
I think asus is a great company and love mine, but I'd go with a new toshiba instead. I'd go with 3. You also dont need 1080p on a 15" screen. In fact, it will be worse because it'll just make your gpu work harder to be native for a difference you wont notice.

At first glace it seems like a good choice but I found that the 310M is even slower than the 220M.
In fact, GT 310M is a high Class 3 GPU, while the 230M is a high Class 2 GPU and the GTX 260M is a mid-low Class 1 GPU. I have decided, number one it is. Thanks to all of you. :good:
