hi, i have a zalman fanmate2 and was wondering if i could use it to connect to a case fan. the case fan uses bigger 4pins connector whereas the fanmate uses northbridge size connectors. how could i make this work?
As Long as the voltage output was matched to what the fan runs on an adapter could work. Take a look at the four pin plug to see which of the four pins has both the ground and positive wires. Even with an adapter you would have to have ground to ground and positive to positive. After you know the pins there and which is what do the same with the Zalman plug if you can distiguish again what is ground and positive. The problem here would be need for an extraction tool if you have to move wires around. Radio Shack or another electronics supply store would need a visit if you don't have that type of tool already.
