Looking for:

3+ port RAID card

Will also consider 4+ port switch, though not desperate for one

Does the NIC specifically have to be 10/100/1000 capable?

I have a 1/100 card you can have if you want :P

Right now it's floating around my box of computer junk, I did keep it in case of needing it for an old board with no onboard LAN, but they are now pretty much pre-historic :D

Have one in my chest, i's maybe a bit older but it works good. Do you mind it's white-gray? And I don't ask much, maybe 5euro but you pay the shipping ...

It does, it will be going in my server which right now has 100 anyway

I'm Unable to use this now as my new motherboard only has one PCI lane which is occupied by my D1 sound card so that's why i don't have it in my system.

£14 Delivered to your front door. (will be around £3-4 for postage) so would like to get at least a £10 for it at the end...postage prices these days!

Blimey, I'd almost forgot about those things!

Didn't they retail for over £100 back in the day?

This also reminds me of the old Ageia physx cards! :P

Thank god neither really caught on. I'd hate to have just put down £200+ on a new GPU, to then have to fork out £100 on a PPU, and £50 on some newfangled NIC :P

It doesn't matter, it won't be burning anything anyway.

The DVD drive I will be hanging fire on for the moment though, may only get one when I really need it, if that time comes, as I can install Server 2008 from a USB device instead along with all drivers and I can't think of anything from the top of my head that will require an optical drive once the server is set up. If there is ever a one off thing I can pick up a spare on the cheap or pull the DVD drive from my system temporarily
