Anyone have some old ram they are not using? Looking for a 512 stick, maybe a 1gb if price is right.

DDR-SDRAM PC-3200 (200 MHz) - [DDR-400] 184pin

Also I know this is the for dealing of computer parts section of the forum, but I think I can get two birds with one stone here.

I currently have a 256 stick pc2700 and a 512 stick of pc3200 in the comp right now. Comp reads 768mb and works fine. But emachines tech on chat said my comp only supports pc2700, was he just making a mistake or whats the deal? Model #: T3624, Thanks.

no he was right it only supports pc2700 speed, but 3200 and 2100 will work in it, 3200 just wont run at 3200 it will run at 2700 or the speed of the slowest ram you have in it.

how much are you wanting to spend on ram, i believe i have 5-6 sticks of pc3200 512mb

I think i have some DDR333 and DDR400 sticks on my old HP desktop system. Some or HP branded and others are kingston.

I'll have to ask my brother because technically it's his computer.

so who is gonna give me a better deal Linkin, or Collins?

oh and yeah if a third or fourth party wants to hop in here their welcome too :D

I don't live near awesomeland yet. As far as where I live I'll pm u on that - in the states though.

Post Office has flat rate small box for like $5, do you know cheaper shipping then that for a ram stick?

Whats brands u got, or does it matter with this old ram?

They are both 533mhz FSB, and have 512KB of L2 Cache. They aren't OEM, but they were mine. i don't use them now, but when i pulled them they both worked. i have cleaned the thermal paste off them. (you will still want to use some isopropyl alcohol) don't have any socket 478 heatsinks though.

I'm in Australia, as for the 512mb stick I'll take $5 AU for it. shipping can be free because it will cost next to nothing to post. :)

How much for one of the P4s shipped to states?

Do you think my HSF will work on the P4, it comes from a 2666mhz celeron D 478. Would the P4 be much of an upgrade?

Yes, pentium architechture has always been faster than celeron, even at the same clockspeed.
