Looking for a new card to upgrade my very old Nvidia 8800 gt.

Budget is pretty flexible depending on what you have, If the price is right I'll take it. Looking for stuff like a gtx 260, 460, etc.

not to derail the thread, but he wants Nvidia because he is a avid Linux user. ATI and Linux do not get along.

I've been thinking about selling my 580 (one in my sig) how much would you pay for that? It's the 1.5 gb version btw.

I'm not looking for anything more then a 460 at the moment, i can't really warrant the purchase. I don't play that many graphics intensive games on my desktop. I just want a separate card to game with when I run a triple monitor setup (1 on this new card and the other 2 on my old card) obviously I'll be playing it windowed too.

I don't think (didn't look up benches) that the GTX560ti is much higher than the GTX460 on performance.
And in a Nvidia setup I am almost certain you need a SLI setup to run triple monitors.

You can run 3 monitors on two separate (different) cards at the same time. I already have one card to run two of them, I just need another for the third.
Whenever I play games, the two monitors on the other card just go dead basically.

Yup. If you didn't see my edit, the cards not on the one playing the game just go dead. otherwise, they all work together fine.
