WTB: Graphics card upgrade

I am looking for something with a bit more oomph than my 2 8600GTs do.

As to whether or not i will buy anything, i don't know, i am more in the realm of wondering what i can get for what money.

If anyone does have anything and wants to make an offer though i would be happy to see how it would go if you want to discuss something. I'll accept trade or money (obviously with trade i would trade my 8600s and pay you as what i would get would be better)

ATI or nvidia, not that fussed, but my mobo can only go SLI, not crossfire and as i can't afford new mobo atm, changeing to have crossfire compatibility isn't an option

Shadows on certain games go flickery if i start putting the settings higher. It isn't the memory, with 8 gig to play with it can't really. I have started OCing my processor and it isn't improving as i jeck that up so it isn't that, so that leaves graphics cards.
 
Why dont you just go with something like this

Its practicly a 8800gt,same clock speeds etc but they changed a few things on it.

btw,1 8800GT 512 alone beats out 2x 8600gts in SLI.

When you have saved up more you could always go sli again with another 9800gt :good:

If you look at DirtyD's thread about the HDD that is being sold, you will see that the shipping will be alot, so i could probably get a 9800GT+ for cheaper than that with shipping, but ty for the offer :P

How much do you think my 2 cards will be worth, bearing in mind both have memory heatsinks and (if it will be more cost effective to do this) i may sell the AC accelero S1 heatsink that i have if it would be overkill for a 9800GT?

Is that better than the one posted from ebuyer, just i know zotac are good makes of video cards and it looks less "ghetto" than the other which has just a bear fan and heatsink for cooling, plus it saves me a few quid because it is a little cheaper

Yeah Zotac are good,usualy they sell overclocked cards but that ones stock.

Just overclock it yourself.

Brilliant price too,If only i had an SLI motherboard :cool:

it has 1GB memory at same clock as the zotac one, all shader and core clocks are the same aswell, so only obvious difference is the double memory for roughly the same price and the difference in cooling

...is it actually better and a ridiculously good price then, or is there something i am missing here that is making it cheaper than all other 1GB 9800GTs?

Take it thats a good deal,My friend has 2 of those Palit cards in SLI,exept his is 8800Gt 512mb.

Id immaging SLI both those 9800GT 1gb would be quite a powerhouse :good:

I can only afford 1 at the moment, but when i have enough for a second then it should be able to breeze through anything, but i think a processor update is in order befre another graphics update :)
