I'm looking for a case for a Dell of mine. If anyone is interested in selling, drop a post with the specs (picture would be nice too) and say how much you are looking for (pricewise).

Thanks,
John

Make an offer. + S&H

Here are some things to note.

Its in very good condition.

Comes with a 400w powersupply

It has firewire, audio, and usb connectors on the top, but i cut the cable for the firewire becaue it was in the way and i have no use for it.

I have added a 4 color fan.

After hearing you describe that, it seems like it is going to be a little out of my price range... Sorry

my optiplex GX240 didnt fit into a aftermarket case, as in maybe 2 or 3 screws, and then the front panel crap, like power buttion and leds didnt reach the mobo

Now that would be depended on the case not the mobo(the wires fo power and leds and such) my current case could go all the way across the case if needed, they have a spot to shove the extra in to :P

And all those its not the best but just a couple screws will hold it in and thats all that matters, I only have 3 screws in even though i could fit mroe, just to lazy.

I looked up the dimmensions of the case I wanted to buy
16.5 x 8 x 18.5 (HxWxD)
I looked up the Dell case I have right now and it is
16.7 x 7.13 x 17.6 (HxWxD)

Is that a problem?
If they won't fit, is it still possible for my to find a case that will? Can the case be slightly bigger or slightly smaller than the Dell and still work?
Thanks Again

It all depends on how your motherboard and PSU ae laid out. If the motherboard is standard ATX than it should fit in any ATX case that you buy. The PSU I'm not sure of because I've heard many different things about Dell PSUs.

i saved money before by making my own case
used fiberglass and some sanding work, also used back of old pc case to make things easier, maybe some plexi glass..things like that, its not hard really, more imagination than anything.

i made one that looked like a larger playstation 2 case, made one from a tv stand, used plexi glass for front-painted it black from inside to give it mirror finish, cut out hardrive slot and power button
made one from a nintendo before too, wanted to make one out of my segacd but dont think its possible

This is the Documentation for the Dell Desktop I have...

From this, do you think it'll fit?
Thanks For The Help
My friend has that model but in silver, and I sort of have that modell. Its black and with a face lol. We both got it from geeks.

It should fit, or you should be able to make it fit.

As long as you can make 2 scres fit on the motherboard its fine :P

Nope, I have once only had the motherboard screwed with one! It was the Thermaltake Tsunami, didn't like my ATX mobo. It was hanging onto the central golden screw. Now it's nicely fit on tight with 4 screws and plenty of space in my Cooler Master CM Stacker.
