Wireless USB and computer freeze

Hello,

I have installed two wireless USB Adapters and both times my computer freezes after an hour or so (ctrl-alt-delete doesnt do anything). First it was netgear, now it is linksys.

I did some detective work and when I remove the linksys adapter from the USB port, my computer doesnt freeze (the drivers ARE still installed). What is happening? Is it conflicting with my usb cable from my printer? What is the cause? How can I fix this? Its a hardware problem, right? Any info would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

It could be a firmware issue. Have you tried looking for an update? Additionally, is the netgear driver still installed when you installed the linksys or did you remove it first? Some useful info. you can provide us is your OS and the model number of your usb wifi devices.

The netgears drivers have been uninstalled (I think...how can I check?).

What is a firmware issue and how can I check for updates?

I am running Windows XP SP2, and the model number of my linksys compact wireless-G adapter is WUSB54GC.

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
