Wireless routers

Im looking to get a wireless router, but my budget is pretty cheap. 30-40 dollars. I was looking at the Netgear WGR 614, but have read alot of reviews about it overheating and dropping the internet connection. Plus Im not sure of the range of it. Because I need it to have a pretty long range and still work okay. Any other suggestions would be gladly accepted.

Would happen to have any idea what the range on that one would be? Couse basically, its going to be on the first floor and the other computer on the third/second floor right above it.

Distance for that is not a problem, it is the type of materials it is traveling through. Steel, aluminum, concrete are all bad.

Lol okay. I dont think I need to worry about any of that though...just normal hhousehold materials...wood and such...lol. And one more thing. What does the IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.11b/g mean? Does that affect the type of card I need to get? ....okay I lied two more things. Are there wireless cards I can get that plug into a usb port?

They are the display of different speeds. The lower number is older Technology. 802.3 is SLOW being around 1.25MB/s. 802.11b standard is 11 Mb/s while 802.11g is 54 Mb/s.
Think of the speeds in relations to the TYPE (B/G/N)
B=11 Mb/s
G=54 Mb/s
Pre-N=108 Mb/s
N=540 Mb/s

G is the most practical speed used today. 54Mb/s is fast when your ISP only allows you to download at 1.5Mb/s-6.0Mb/s.

The 54Mb/s comse in handy when trasbfering files across the network, which is a max speed of 54Mb/s (within 100Meters of signal)

Yes you can get a USB Nic/wireless card, but a lot of them are not worth the trouble they pose. There are a lot of connection issues with USB. Connections dropped, speeds fluctuating etc..
