Wireless Router Shopping...

Hello. I'm currently shopping for a wireless router, and have a few questions about which one would be best for me. I'm getting a satellite installed that has a broadband cable, which needs to be attached to a router. I have four desktop PCs and one laptop that need to be connected. The computers are not near each other, so I've been told to find one with an internal signal booster. Could I possibly get any suggestions about which router would work best, and which PC/laptop cards I need? Thanks in advance, -Maniac

I've heard the a pre-N router has better signal distance and speeds, you could use that to connect to the broadband router. As for the cards, if you're planning to connect wirelessly, then you would need a card from the same maunfacturer (if youre planning on a pre-N, otherwise different ones are fine) for each computer.

I agree also on the linksys. Plus you can look on ebay for tons of add-ons for signal strength like upgraded antenna's and they even makea power booster that will plug into your bnc ports and give you more power the wrt54gs has a 3rd party firmware you can download off the net. Which allows you to boost the power like 300%. Read some articles on sveasoft
