Wireless problem

I have a friend with 3 computers. He has a wireless network. He has a laptop and 2 desktops. The internet works fine on all the comptuers. Although on his laptop he cant view any of the files on the network (it says he doesnt have permission). The other computers can view files on the laptop though, but the laptop cant view any files on anything as mentioned above. I know the problem isnt the router because he just got a new one. I hope all that made sense.
 
Has he checked the permissions of the laptop on the admin computer of the network (providing you have one) also make sure that the folders aren't hidden to limited users or something like that.

It would help if you could tell us.
1). What operating systems all computers are running
2). How much experiance you or your friend has in adminning a network. (wired or wireless)
 
They are all running xp. Yes, we have checked the permissions. I am very good with networks but, this problem really has me stumped.
 
Try adding the lap top as a user to the other computers. And make sure all the share permissions are correct.

a good network admin would have run the network wizard on all the machines by now and turned on file and print sharing....
