Wireless networking problems

I am having problems setting up the wireless network on the new laptop I have recently brought.

I brought a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology with Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2050.

I am also a subscriber to Orange (wanadoo) wireless internet broadband which connects up through a wireless adaptor I have to plug into the laptop or my home computer to connect to the live box. I don’t want to have to keep moving the adaptor over to my laptop ever time I want to connect, especially since it has the capability to connect without out it.

When I try to connect up it says that I am connected to the network but says ‘Acquiring network addresses and gets no further. I have the correct WEP key so I don’t know why it won’t seem to connect up.

Any suggestions?

If you need anymore specific info I can let you know.

I've found that most often, when the status sticks on "Aquiring network address", it means that there are not enough DHCP users available (I assume you are using DHCP. If not, that might be your problem). This can be changed through the router settings and then increasing the number of DHCP users.
