Wireless Network works but loses connection

Hello all, I hope you can help. I am running a home wireless network. For 2 months all has been well. Recently they have stopped working gradually. I have cleared out all spyware as thought this may be causing the problem. All PC's were on DHCP @ssigned. I have the main PC downstairs which is attached directly to the BT Voyager 1050 router. This works fine all the time. The 2nd PC is upstairs but not that far away (roughly room above) and I have a Centrino laptop as well. The upstairs PC and laptop can connect to the internet sometimes and work really well and at other times they just dont get a connection. The main PC is on DHCP and the other 2 are now on static IP as i changed them from DHCP @ssigned as they were being put onto a 169. address when the downstairs was on a 192.168. It seems strange that it works perfectly sometimes but at others it totally loses connection to the internet. I wondered if this was a distance problem but even if the laptop is right next to the router it can still lose its connection. All 3 are on Win XP Pro. Checked for viruses and spyware but alll ok. Please help!!

I don't know an answer to your problem, but a person I kow has wireless internet connection as well. Its about a POS and a half..

Use netstumbler, perhaps there is signal overlap causing you to drop connections. Alternatively, if you have wireless phones in the same frequency range of your wirless setting it could cause this problem.

I agree. Also, try changing the wireless channel. Another option Linksys makes a signal booster and signal boosting antenna's if someone elses wireless network is overlapping yours buy these two things and kiss away your connection problems :)
