Wireless Network Unavailable

This morning I reformatted the family computer. We have a wireless network as we have 3 computers.

Now I can't get the family computer to connect to the network. I've installed the driver & there's a green light on the wireless adapter. But it says wireless network unavailable.

I was wondering if it was because the Windows XP hasn't been activated? As I remember having a problem connecting my computer to that computer (when we had just 2 computers), and I had to move the modem. But now I can't do that, as the modem is in the router and the computer can't connect to that.

Please help.

Well...you could try using the program that came with your Adapter instead of Window's Wireless Zero Service.

It would probably be on the CD that came with it, or im sure you could find it on google.

Go to control panel, click network options then go to check your Network SSID name and see if there is a name in it, if no type in your wireless SSID name, I mean the wireless modem which allows you to hook onto the net if yes, then press ok and then go to your desktop screen the bottom right screen, click the icon with that 1 computer and then right click it and then go to wireless network connection and then go to change advanced setting and then click wireless network and then check to see if your check box is checked. If yes, then click okay then magic. try first.

Wrong already... You go straight to right click the computer icon at the bottom right hand of your computer screen and then click wireless network connection. Click change advanced setting, click wireless network. Ohh, then checkbox your only box you see in that browser window.

Yeah.. then you proceed to click on the add button and then type in your network name and ah hah.... click okay. Okay, check to see if you can see your wireless signal. If yes, then should be okay.. Huang Zhipeng is correct but Mr Huang, you no need to go to control panel. Understand, Mr Huang??

IBM Thinkpad I hope you know that guy otherwise that was really rude.

His way had one extra step..so what? If the user had the system tray icon disabled, your way would have left ncfcanna confused.

Anyways, I have a feeling you know him, or ARE him for that matter...but if not please try not to be so rude in the future.
