Wireless Network Help

I have a computer in my bedroom that has no internet. However, I have a wireless router in my basement but I dont know how to set it up on my pc. I have no experience setting up a wireless network and I dont know IP address for my wireless router,and no I can't do ip config becuase this pc is connected to a different router. Please tell me how to do this. Thanks in advance.

Would you be leaving the router in the basement? Might run into to non connectivity issues.

The PC your trying to connect to the Wireless router, will get the IP from the router. The only thing you really need to do is put your connection info (to make an internet connection with the router), and put an ethernet card into your PC upstairs.

It has a ethernet card. Yes the wireless router will stay in the basement. I just dont know how to set up the connection to the wireless router. Please replay quickly because I need this connection within the next hour. Thank you.

You say it has an ethernet card... It is a wireless ethernet card? If not it wont work.

Plug the router in and set up the connection.

Go to the pc, and enable the wireless connection, and dont specify an ip address. When it search for a network, it should find your. select it and that it.
