Wireless net on laptop.. PLEASE HELP!!

Hey

I have just purchased a laptop during the week, and I want wireless net in my home so as I can go around the house with it.

I already use a usb modem, but I was advised by a friend and bought a package, which included a wireless laptop PCMIA card, a router and an access point (or something lol)... I have all the ethrnet cables etc, and I am basically looking for a straight forward guide on how to set it all up..
