ok ive recently set up a wireless network in my apartment, i have a netgear wgr614 v6 as my router and a linksys wrt54g w/the 3rd party firmware to make it a wireless bridge in my living room. i have a basic tower in teh basement that serves as my media server, this tower is hard wired to he linksys bridge in my living room. my moded xbox is also connected to the linksys in my living room. i have another modded xbox in my room that is hardwired to the netgear router. my pc is also hardwired to the router along with my roomates pc and his moded xbox in his room. here is what im tryin to do. up until this point my pc had been where i kept all my media now ive been running low on hard drive space and decided to get an inexpensive tower i could use as a media server and a recording pc in my basement. but now i am having trouble getting the netgear router to see the pc in the basement so i can stream video to the xbox in my room and transfer files from my pc in my room the the media server....the weird thing is this....the xbox that is connected to the linksys in the living room is recognized by the netgear router but the pc in the basement isnt....i can stream video from my pc in my room to the xbox in the living room but i cant access the pc in the basement via the network......im gettin a lil frustrated if anyone has any thoughts please leave them

So you cant see the pc in the basement on ant pc? Have you trid using the \\computer name method? or the \\localip? ex \\192.168.2.1

Did you run the wizard?

yea the pc in the basement is the one i want to use as my media server and stream it to the xboxs, but i need to network it w/my pc in my room so i can get share files between the two of them as well....as of right now ive tried runnin the wizard and i can get my roomates pc and my pc on the network but the one in the basement(which is connected via the wireless bridge) isnt being seen after setting up the network....ive been messin with it all day i think its and issue with the port forwarding settings in the router...i just gotta continue to bang my head off the wall and i think ill figure it out....ill try your suggestions though....any more comments are welcome...

Make sure they are all in the same workgroup... Also check the settings of the bridge. Are the local ip addresses assigned al in the same block? If not try making them. did you try the \\computername entry?

ok heres an update.....ive got the pc in the basement to see my computer in my room...i can stream stuff from my pc in my room to the one in the basement but i cant stream/share the other way(from the basement to my room).....i cant even see the basement pc on the network from my room......and yet i can access my pc in my room fromt he basement......i used the "\\server\shared folder" thing to get the basement pc to see the one in my room but now i cant get the one in my room to do the same...any ideas?
