I got a network going between 2 computers simply through a LAN cable all this works great can acess the internet on the 2nd computer etc. I bought 2 wireless LAN dongles a while back so i could create a simple wireless network and they worked great and could access the internet etc. I reinstalled my computer and i installed everything like i did before but now the wireless network connects but i cant access the internet on the 2nd computer. I set the ip's and dns ips but it still doesnt connect. I did get the limited or no connectivity message but after i set the ip's the message didnt appear. Its strange i get 100% signal internet connection sharing is enabled but i still cant get on the internet on the 2nd computer. any ideas

Thanks:) :)

Do this on both computers:

start-->run-->cmd

Type "ipconfig /all" (no quotes)

and post here what they say

thats my computer which im hosting the wireless lan

And this is the laptop which i want to share the connection to

Thanks for the help:)

I need you to type "ipconfig /all"

It gives me more information

and just copy and paste the text into here, don't bother hosting the image and all that....

oh and a few other things:

Are you using static or dynamic IP addresses? (in your router settings)
What type of internet connection?

This is my computer which i want to host the lan

Ok, now I am confused.

Are you using a wireless router? What type of internet connection do you have?

Station? What do you mean by that? I'm sorry, but I don't really understand you. Wireless dongles cannot broadcast any information, only routers can do that

The DSL should have a modem, which will connect to a router. This is by far the easiest way to set up a wireless network

i have got the two usb lan dongles transfering information information to share the internet and my mate have without a router. Theres software that come with the dongles and you set the computer which u want to use to share the internet as the access point and the computer which you want to receive the internet as the station. I got it working when i first got them perfect and my mate did.:) :)

What "dongles" are you using? I know what you are talking about, but unfortunately I have never used them, so I may not be able to help you much
