i have a D-Link 4300 Wireless Gaming Router. i have my computer connected to it by the cable. I cant get any other computer to connect to the internet w/ the router wirelessly. I can get it to connect to the router but it wont go on the internet. How do i fix this?

and now one of the computers isnt even showing my router in the "Choose a wireless network"

i updated the firmware on my router and now it shows up on my other computer. the only problem now is that it says it has limited or no connectivity. and the computer is only a foot away from the router!! and the signal is excellent!!

do you have a wep key enabled? Try making noe, to get a connection, then adding it in after. Make sure it works before adding all the features in.

Also check the IP pool to make sure there is an IP address available.

Also make sure you dont try to assign your own ip through your network properties.

umm i have WPA-Personal enabled as my security and it gave me the Pre-shared Key. which i used so the other computer can gain access.

ip pool?

and im using the software that it came with not through network properties if thats what you mean.

Well turn the wpa thing off to just try to get a valid connection... make sure that works, then turn it back on.

The ip pool is in the router. the router is only allowed to assign specific IP from a certain pool, which you specify.

So the network properties isall empty? Software which it came with? you mean you login with something like http://192.168.2.1 or http://home ?

ok i turned off the WPA. now it connects and has excellent signal but still cant go on the internet. also it says the speed is 2mbs when i no it should be faster. the card goes up to 54mbs and the router can get as high as 108mbs.

and ya the software thing makes me login into the http://192.168.0.1

also when i use the software and goe to status it shows that the computer is connected wirelessly to the router. b/c it says 1 wireless client. and it says the rate is 54mb and signal is 100% but the computer doesnt say that. when i look in Statistics for the wireless it shows alot of TX Packets Dropped and shows that it recieved less that it sent.
Wireless Statistics

Sent : 870 Received : 654
TX Packets Dropped : 256 Errors : 0

alo i looked in the LOG details and it said
[INFO] Sat Jan 31 18:45:13 2004 Dropped packet from 1**.***.***.** to 2**.***.***.*** that was received from the wrong network interface (IP address spoofing)

what does IP adress spoofing mean?

Ok about the IP pool.. for your router it is called DHCP ip address range.
Make sure there is a range in there which specifies atleast 5 addresses.

NEXT THING: on your pc which you cant get a connection...
Right click my network places (winxp), and go properties.
In the window right click on the lan connection, or high speed connection listed in there... MAKE SURE THERE IS NO IP SPECIFIED... the router will do this for you.

Did you have an Ip specified?

the range just shows 2 ip's like -----.100 to -----.199 .

when i go to my network places a window comes up w/ 3 connections: Local area connection, 1394 connection, and wireless network connection. when i have the wireless network connection highlighted the bottom window thing to the left under details shows an ip address. is that what you are talking about?

also my router isnt showing up again on the computer.

i even hardwired it and it said it was connected but it still wouldnt load any webpages.
