Wireless Draft N

Has anyone had much usage of the newer draft N format of wireless.

Just wondering if it offered any improvement in range for people

I've had trouble for age trying to get a decent signal with my current setup and have recently purchased a rangemax wireless N router. However currently i am still using a G PCI card.

Just after a bit of feedback before i splash out on a Netgear WN311B :)

You need to purchase the same make wireless card as your router is, so if you buy a Linksys draft-n, you need a Linksys draft-n wireless card, most likely it wont work if you use different brands because the 802.11n isnt finalized yet, so every company is using a slightly different technology.

lol, worth pointing out though just in case i didnt know. :)

Its one of the problems of its being draft really that you have to get the same make, then again i try to stick with the same make of router and adaptor anyway, just makes things a little simpler.

BUt i am interested to hear in any experiences of the improvement to range and such, i think i am right on the edge with mine currently, hence why i am getting intermittant signals between good and low.

Hopeing that a draft N card will solve the problem and give me a good solid stable connection :)

Well folks, I though this might be a useful addition for anyone considering setting up a wireless network but has worries about its range.

Get yourself draft N without a doubt

My connection this morning was at its usual, about 15mbps and very low signal strength

Popped in the Netgear draft N card and now i'm getting just over 180mpbs with a very good signal strength

I think we can call that a success :D
