Wireless Dial-Up

Hi, I have a laptop with Wireless 802.11g. I was wondering if it is possible to have wireless dial-up internet (if the even make a router for this). Also what exactly is 802.11g mean?
Thanks

im not sure bout your first question, but wireless g is a type of wireless. It's faster than wireless b (54mbps as to 11mbps) and it runs at 2.4ghz frequency. Also there's Super G that runs at 108mbps. A wireless g receiver can pick up B signals however it will run at 11mbps.

to have your dial up distributed wirelessly, you need to run the dial up to one computer, then enable internet connection sharing, and distribute it over a wireless network, obvisouly, sharing dialup between anything more thn one PC is gonna be hella slow.....

or apple airport express, come with dial up modems, but it will be incredibly slow, dial up is bad enough on 1 pc, i dread to think what it's like with 2 or more computers connected

Do you think that "WiFlyer" thing would have the same speed of dial up for my laptop as on my desktop?

I asked this question a while back & was told the same answer.I asked someone where I live about it & he told me to connected a netgear router with a US robotics sportster modum. I now I have wireless with dial up & it's not any slower than before. Works great..
