Wireless card with Dial Up?

Okay, so my grandmother just purchased a Dell Laptop and it came with a free wireless card. I was planning on setting it up for her with DSL but we just found out DSL is not available where she lives. I looked into cable too but she cannot afford it. So she settled on High Speed Dial Up, which really is fine for her because shes doing simple things like email and banking, and she doesnt mind waiting anyway. So I have a question...
Does the wireless card still work if I get a router? How do I go about setting this up exactly and is there a specific kind of router I need?

We can read the default text size just fine :P

Routers work off network connections; RJ-45 and all... Dialup, highspeed or not, is RJ-11. The only way you will be able to use the wifi card to connect to the internet is if you share the connection using some other computer.
 
What, to get online with the laptop? Doesn't the laptop come with a modem and regular network card? Most all of them do anymore.
 
In the laptops description is just said a "wireless card" was included...I wont know for sure until it gets here...I guess Ill just post again when i get it. Thanks for your help!
 
u should just tell her to get cable then.. i know it can be more expensive but it is much better, around 100 mbps instead of 100 kbps mabe less.. and highspeed dial up is around 25$ a month wile cable is around 40$ (at least here in comcast country it is) also phones are another thing to consider. if your grandma talks on the phone ever she will need a second line with dial up, it uses up the whole phone line. Just a few thoughts..
