Windows mem diagnostic

How long should my computer take to run windows memory diagnostic on extended with cache off? its been running for 51 hours and its at 60% of the first pass
 
If it's only on the first pass then you have a problem. Try downloading memtest and burning it to a cd and see if you still have the same problem.

Unzip the file after downloading and then use a burning program to burn the iso image to cd and then boot to the cd.
 
Are you running a 32 bit operating system? If so, then thats why it shows less than 4.
 
my bad i didnt think about that when i typed it, on the memtest website it says for 4gb or less only. is there a version for more. also i stuck the disk in the drive restarted nothing happened i happened to look in my computer but only c: was listed. ive uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, and the eject button now doesnt work. im trying a system restore and will post back after. hopefully someone will have some insight by then incase it doesnt go well.
 
ok i got it going, is there a specific test i should run or is default "thorough" enough? how long should it / i leave it running? also thanks for the support and help this is great since after 3 days microsoft software hadnt gone anywhere:mad:
 
Jgoff, I'm not tone to call fake, but can you take pictures of your rig, GTX 295 Quad SLI? 12 gb ddr3 1600mhz ram? Core i7 920 WCed to 3.58 ghz, and you bought this from Cyperpower or something? That would cost well over 5,000$
