Windows 7

Hi.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

I have installed Windows 7, from XP. Basically playing DVD's/mpegs is now really jerky, and it wasn't with XP.

Any ideas what is wrong. I have 2gb RAM, and installed 32bit Windows 7, so RAM shouldn't be an issue.

Presumably if the graphics card was fine then, it should be fine now?

Suggestions would be appreciated

Regards

Mike

didn't say anything about the specs on computer. No, generally should not be a problem. Then again how did you install? Do a quick format or full install and wipe it. i would not do a quick format.

Wait about 2 days to a week. It will calm down. And when I say wait, I mean use your computer normally, even leave it on for long periods. It will calm down. I had the same issue, and I though it was that Win7 was slow on my computer. Then I waited a week, and like magic, everything worked fine. In fact, CPU usage while playing videos was 5-10%, compared to 20-30% in XP. Win7 likes to make lists of everything, and optimize itself during the time after the installation. Nothing to worry about, as I said it will calm down after a few days of normal usage.

Thanks.

Apparently I need to download driver for my graphics card.

Turns out mine is not compatable.

No worries, I can buy a compatable one easily enough.

Trouble is I have no idea which are compatable with my motherboard

Graphics card is R9250 256Mg 128bit.

Motherboard ASUS K8N-EDdeluxe.

I am struggling to google an answer.

Goto start and right click the computer, properties then device manager. Yes it should work now. do ya see a yellow exclamation next to the video driver? right click the driver then find a better driver.

Sorry.

Been away on holiday.

I have tried that, but it doesn't recognise the driver, so hasn't updated. The yellow exclamation mark is still there.

I assume I will need to buy a new graphics card. Any idea which one(s) based on description below.
